[00:00:02] Speaker A: And what took me back to that first podcast, there was something I said on there that as long as I was where God wants me, I didn't care why.
[00:00:08] Speaker B: Right.
[00:00:09] Speaker A: Well, that's an easy thing to slip out of real quick because it's. Now I want to know why. What's the purpose of every single step that we're taking here? And he's like, you handle this step, I'll handle all the rest of them. You don't get that maybe ever
[00:00:24] Speaker B: Jairus in the New Testament. But you. It's like I was talking to someone yesterday. I said, name me in the New Testament, even the apostles. We know that Philip had three daughters, but that's it. We don't know what kind of dad he was or if he did something special.
[00:00:39] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:00:39] Speaker B: Or anything. Where the Old Testament is a lot. Well, New Testament's narrative, as far as the Gospels in Acts.
[00:00:45] Speaker C: But, you know, I would.
[00:00:46] Speaker B: Emphasis is not a dad.
[00:00:48] Speaker C: I would think Peter has some children because of his age.
[00:00:51] Speaker A: Well.
[00:00:51] Speaker B: And he was married.
[00:00:53] Speaker C: Yeah. So I would think it just wasn't
[00:00:55] Speaker A: a focal point of the.
[00:00:56] Speaker C: No.
[00:00:57] Speaker B: That they were good dads or that they did this as dads. Now, the Old Testament's got plenty of examples of good, bad and ugly.
[00:01:04] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:01:06] Speaker B: And a lot of ugly. I mean, I thought about, you know, you look at Eli, you. Several dads that you could do, and then there's some good dads and there's good dads that were. Made some mistakes, did some good things. So, you know, I thought about, well, since I did two harlots at Mother's Day, I might as well do. Let's do Genesis 22 with Abraham sacrificing Isaac but not having to go, you know, that I said, no, I better not do that one.
[00:01:35] Speaker C: Well, all I know is by the time I went to the bathroom and come out, you were done.
That was fast. That had to be fast because I did a little bit of time.
[00:01:47] Speaker B: I let us out. It was 12 o' clock when we got out.
[00:01:50] Speaker C: Well, you had someone join or didn't have. That youth minister was up there and two of them.
[00:01:55] Speaker B: Yeah. But I just caught him up at the end. We didn't have.
[00:01:58] Speaker C: Well, then he must start elo.
You know what it was, now that I think about.
We were halfway through the sermon before he let the children go.
That's what it was.
[00:02:07] Speaker B: He did take some time. That was.
[00:02:10] Speaker C: She forgot.
[00:02:11] Speaker B: No, it was one of letting the senior adults get down and get set.
[00:02:15] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:02:16] Speaker B: Because I can't have that. That's. That's Not a good resident doing that
[00:02:19] Speaker A: here lately, though, it seems like when
[00:02:21] Speaker B: it's the senior adults.
[00:02:22] Speaker C: Okay. That's why. Because you were. I think you had already.
[00:02:25] Speaker B: I was biden some time. Yeah, I was. I was introducing it while they were going down so that when the kids. The stampede gets released, it doesn't knock over some of those older ladies coming off that stage.
[00:02:36] Speaker C: I would whisper to miss it. I think he. He might have forgot. Joe.
Just wait and see.
[00:02:42] Speaker B: No, I hadn't. I just like said I wanted everybody to get settled. Then I was in the middle of it and I said, all right, here's a good. Let's go ahead and dismiss them.
[00:02:49] Speaker C: That's probably why it was so, so short then.
[00:02:53] Speaker B: Yeah, well. And it wasn't a long sermon. I promise you it wasn't.
[00:02:56] Speaker C: No, I'm sure it wasn't. I don't think you do long standings.
[00:02:59] Speaker A: Well, I didn't.
[00:03:00] Speaker C: There are times you can. I don't think you. You put it.
[00:03:04] Speaker B: I purposely try not to.
[00:03:06] Speaker C: You do a part two. Do you do a part two on the fly?
[00:03:11] Speaker B: Sometimes.
[00:03:11] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:03:12] Speaker B: But most of the time, I know going in on that morning, a lot of times I'll make the outline on a Wednesday night. I hadn't even thought about a part two. We can make it through. But then once I start putting my notes together, it's like, no, this is going to be a two parter and this one next week might be a three parter or the one we're doing now. We'll see.
[00:03:31] Speaker A: I still got to get through 15.
[00:03:32] Speaker B: I still. Yeah, I still got 3, 4 and 5 to go. John. 15, 1 through 12 and only got through. All right, let's define what fruit is.
Then you have to be connected to the vine. And then we're going to talk about what it means to be in him.
Then we're going to talk about what pruning and cutting is.
Then we're going to talk about what it really means to abide and how you do it.
I don't know how I'm going to get that done in 30 minutes.
[00:03:59] Speaker A: And you're not going to 16.
[00:04:02] Speaker B: We'll see. We'll see.
A lot of it is probably not because we've done got to the part of the yearly schedule where you have Father's Day communion, fourth of July, and then you have vbs and you have all these others that it's kind of like, okay, let's just, let's do like a midsummer series that's about four weeks and we'll.
[00:04:23] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:04:23] Speaker B: We've got enough pictures of who Jesus was in John.
[00:04:26] Speaker A: There was.
[00:04:27] Speaker B: We won't hang it in the loop anymore.
[00:04:28] Speaker A: So I spent a little bit of time on 16 today.
[00:04:32] Speaker B: It's great stuff in there.
[00:04:33] Speaker A: Because I didn't know. I knew that.
I knew you said you weren't going to finish all of John.
Right. I thought you said you were going to cut it off after 15. And I thought, well, there's some stuff in 16 I'd kind of like to get into if you're not going to.
[00:04:45] Speaker B: Yeah. And I may end up kind of pulling some just because I mean John 17, when you look at the great high. The high priestly prayer, that's good stuff too, that we really need to know who we are in Christ and what he prayed for us. And, and, and the picture of Christ is our great high priest. It's pretty, pretty, pretty worth. Worth studying. So. Yeah.
[00:05:08] Speaker A: Well I have a question on that. Welcome to other ones. Who said. I don't think I said that last time. That if anybody is here for the first time, it's the other 167.
Live out our walk with God the other 167 hours a week. We're not in church.
[00:05:22] Speaker B: We got church covered that one hour.
[00:05:23] Speaker A: That's right.
[00:05:24] Speaker B: How do I do it?
[00:05:25] Speaker A: We can handle that one usually for the most part. But how do we. I went back and listened to the very first show we did this week and just being you or just, just me and you and I tell you it's. It's cringeworthy of me to go back and listen to that one because of how raw it is all. I'd never done a podcast before. I didn't know how to edit.
[00:05:43] Speaker B: Oh yeah, me too.
[00:05:44] Speaker A: I just talked your head off for most of we. We.
[00:05:46] Speaker B: I think we've come away.
[00:05:48] Speaker A: It has.
[00:05:48] Speaker C: It's changed.
[00:05:49] Speaker A: But it was when I listened to that first one. It's like it was a real. I enjoyed the. The conversation.
[00:05:56] Speaker B: I remember I went back and listened to some of them once in a
[00:05:58] Speaker A: while after doing there were how many hundreds or whatever podcast since then with different things like boy that was terrible but I've been learning new.
[00:06:07] Speaker B: You grow. And we had a Kenny and that seemed to have took it up a notch and I appreciate that.
[00:06:12] Speaker C: Ratings are still high. Yep.
[00:06:14] Speaker B: I appreciate it, man.
[00:06:15] Speaker C: Well, we got. We double from one to two.
[00:06:18] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:06:20] Speaker B: We still got that one listener in India that we love.
[00:06:23] Speaker C: Yeah. Shout out.
[00:06:25] Speaker A: Well, I had a very simple question, just more of a confirmation, I think but John 16:31 reading that this morning I'm pretty sure this is sarcasm. I just want to make sure. When Jesus answered them, do you believe me now or do you believe now or do you now believe? So he's. They, he said, I've been saying it in.
Been speaking figuratively, and now I'm saying it clearly. And afterwards it says, the disciples said, lo, you were speaking plainly and you are not using a figure of speech. Now, we know you know all things and you have. And we have no need for anyone to question you. By this we believe that you came from God. Jesus answered them, do you now believe? Behold, an hour is coming and has already come for you to be scattered each to his own home, to leave me alone. And yet I am not alone because the Father's with me. That was a little bit of sarcasm, remember? Or just a little bit of a now you believe.
[00:07:17] Speaker B: Well, and I think it's also one of.
I hate to put it this way. I think it's one of kind of like when Peter says, well, I'm going to be here. Sure. Are you sure, Peter?
[00:07:26] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah.
[00:07:27] Speaker B: And yeah. So sarcasm. But it's also one of, okay, you say you believe it, but I know what's about to happen. Yeah, I know you're all going to be scattered to your own home. You don't run for your life. And I'm by myself, but I'm really not by myself because Father's with me. So that's. Yeah, it's a, it's a sarcasm. It's also one of, okay, now, now you, you, you act like you're getting it, but you still hadn't gotten it.
[00:07:49] Speaker A: Yeah, One of the things that kind of you, John 14, 15 and 16, there's so much in there where he repeats the same things over and over again. And one of the things he repeats constantly is ask anything in my name or anything you ask.
[00:08:04] Speaker B: It's a minor thing to come through it.
[00:08:06] Speaker A: Sure. Right. And I went back through and I believe I counted them all, but I got so many highlights in that chapter, it's hard to cherry pick them out. But I'm pretty sure every single time he says that phrase anything in my name, it will be given to you.
[00:08:20] Speaker C: It's.
[00:08:20] Speaker A: It's never a conditional. It's always either anything or whatever, whatsoever or whatever, anything. And I think we've talked about that verse a bunch of times.
[00:08:30] Speaker B: Right.
[00:08:31] Speaker A: And that it's not, you know, please send me a million dollars or give me that kind of. We get that. But I think I've always kind of Taken that one a little bit more like, okay, well, if I can get my will, if I can get aligned enough with God's will that I know what he wants me to ask for, then he will give it to me.
But at the same time, it doesn't read that way any of the times that he says it. It says whatever you ask in my name. Now, it has to be something that you have to. There's a part there where he's talking about being connected to him and abiding in him. That there is a condition on that. Yeah, but it's not that it doesn't read as if I'm throwing darts at a board and hoping that I happen to get it right. And if I happen to guess exactly what God wants me to ask for, then he'll give it to me. But if I don't, then I won't get sounds like if you have.
If you're in the spirit or.
[00:09:22] Speaker B: And you're playing connected to the vine,
[00:09:24] Speaker A: right, you're connected to the vine, you're abiding in Jesus, then whatever you ask in his name for his glory, for the Father's glory will be given.
[00:09:33] Speaker B: And I think that goes like his heart becomes your heart, his will becomes your will.
It is a surrender of yourself to saying your will be done. Is praying anything in my name? Is that key phrase that whatever it is that's going to glorify your name and bring you fame and that. And so that's why when we pray, and we pray in accordance to God's will, now that's a big, huge, nebulous statement.
So what is it that's God's will? Well, God would have all men to come to himself. This is God's will for your life, that you would be sanctified. That's in Thessalonica, the. And so anytime that we're praying for kingdom growth, kingdom advancement in our lives and in. In the world here, then I think that is what he's getting at there. And I think that's the thing. As you seek his heart and as you walk with him. You know, I was thinking about it the other night is. I don't know if you remember. Oftentimes I've seen it with students that. And I know in my own life who you hang around, you almost become kind of like their personality. And that's why it's so much.
When you're dealing with youth, you're always concerned with, okay, who are they hanging with? Because if they're hanging with a bunch of ne' Er do wells and derelicts. Okay. More than likely sooner or later they're going to drag you down more than you're going to pull them up and you begin sounding like acting like those who you hang around. Well I think that's the Premise of John 15 is hey, the closer you're connected and the more that you are drawing that life giving SAP, and I hate to call it that, but it is a vine and we are the branches that life giving, life producing Holy Spirit or whatever into our lives, the more we're going to sound like, act like, pray like Jesus. And that's when okay, ask anything in my name and it will be done.
[00:11:29] Speaker A: So let me throw a, just a hanging curveball. There's any a softball question.
So we take that and I don't mean this is a trick question.
[00:11:40] Speaker C: No, no.
[00:11:40] Speaker A: But praying for someone else's salvation, yeah that's certainly kingdom oriented. There's absolutely no question whatsoever that that is for God's glory and that that aligns with his will.
[00:11:50] Speaker B: There's another one.
[00:11:51] Speaker A: I mean now at the same time just because you pray for someone's salvation 100 times doesn't necessarily mean that they will be saved. They'll fight. It doesn't.
[00:12:05] Speaker B: I don't know it's a guarantee. But I think it is something that I've always said this and, and I don't know that I'm, I don't, I don't know that I have scripture. I just have a bunch of experiences watching it is I, I think when the Lord lays a certain person on your heart and he lays your, lays it on your heart to keep praying for him over and over again. And you know that's the Lord saying, praying for this, it's going to be hard pressed for me believe that he still has a choice.
But I've seen more often not when the Holy Spirit's working like that and drawing you to pray for them. That's usually the Holy Spirit's working in their life too and they can still refuse. But I've seen it more often not they come to Christ and again that it doesn't always have to be. You're exactly right. It's not a promise.
[00:12:52] Speaker A: Well but, but as you're saying it's not a promise. But if, I mean what's the distinction between it being a promise? He says it like six times in two chapters.
[00:13:03] Speaker B: I don't, I don't know that I, I'm just saying that it didn't always that come to Christ.
[00:13:08] Speaker A: Right.
[00:13:08] Speaker B: But that doesn't but that's not all. He doesn't say that point blank.
As far as this is what this means, you pray for anybody and they're going to get saved because it's still that person has a choice.
[00:13:18] Speaker A: But it's ask anything in my name and it will be done for you. Right. I mean that, that's. I mean it's said several different times in different. And there's some slight rewording each time. So it'. But it's essentially ask anything in my name and it will be done for you. So my question that I'm kind of getting, there's a few different layers or angles I guess on it. Number one is okay, is that not a. I noticed shortly after the last time that I see him say that is in John 16:23. I don't know if this is the last time, but it says truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask, if you ask the Father for anything in my name, he will give it to you. And then the next thing he says is, until now you have asked for nothing in my name. Ask and you will receive so that your joy may be full. These things I have spoken to you in figurative language. An hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language. After he says that, you know, everything to this point has been figurative language. He doesn't say that again.
[00:14:14] Speaker C: Right.
[00:14:14] Speaker A: So I was kind of wondering, I'm not trying to make it too complex, but is there some hidden mystery behind that, that we, that we are somewhere between. I know it's not prosperity gospel.
[00:14:25] Speaker C: Right.
[00:14:25] Speaker A: But it's also not. If he said it that many times, it was something he meant. So even godly prayers and kingdom oriented prayers, not always 100% answered. And where I'm getting at with it is it is a lack of faith on our part that we're not. I know that's something that he covers in other parts of the Bible that it's your. If you have the faith.
[00:14:45] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:14:46] Speaker B: But even then, I mean, I don't know that it's always. I mean there's a lot going on when you're praying. There's your faith, there's the Lord hearing it and answering it. There's the purity that hey, if I have regard iniquity of my heart, God will not hear me.
There's that there is the okay, am I praying? Am I praying?
And it's in accordance to God's will in Jesus name. I mean there's so much going on there that it's hard to pinpoint and say, okay, it's every time it's going to be like this.
I think that's the mystery of God's will.
[00:15:18] Speaker A: That.
[00:15:18] Speaker B: Okay, trying to exactly figure out we know what the overall huge or general will is that he would have all men to be saved. But then there's that individual part too, that still comes in that I believe now there are some denominations that would say you don't even have free will or free choice. Well, no, I believe you have free will. You have a choice to respond to the gospel or not, and whether or not that works in an individual's life as much. And again, holding on to those promises like that, yeah, it'd be easy to say, well, then everybody should be saved. Right. If I'm praying for everybody to be saved, everybody should be.
But I don't think that's what Jesus is getting at there.
And again, I think it has a lot to do with seeking out his will in his heart in every situation and making it not just about the broad, but the individual. And I know that's hard to understand and I know it's hard of one of those things of. Well, yeah, I agree with you. Maybe that does mean everybody should be saved, but I know that's not it.
[00:16:21] Speaker C: Right.
[00:16:22] Speaker A: Well, and also there's gonna be times that you pray for things that are, I mean, salvation I use as a simple example, because there's no scripture anywhere that can contradict that. God wants everyone to be saved.
[00:16:32] Speaker B: Like that is his will. That's. That's what he wants.
[00:16:34] Speaker A: Peter. Yeah.
[00:16:35] Speaker C: Right.
[00:16:36] Speaker A: Now there are other things that you can pray for that are kingdom motivated.
They. It's like you said before, good, better, best. What you're seeing, what you're asking for might be good, just not best. It might be better. Exactly what God intended, Right, Exactly. You could pray for healing for someone, for the glorification of God, not just for this person, but so that those around this person can see the power of God from the healing and all these things. But God's plan may be to call him home.
[00:17:07] Speaker B: He doesn't always heal, does he?
[00:17:09] Speaker A: Right. Yeah. So there are more complex scenarios you can be where it's like, hey, I'm praying as hard as I can for something that looks to me to be something that we should be wanting. Yeah, it seems like something we should want. It seems like God would want this. But for whatever reason, that's easier to explain, I suppose, than a salvation one because it's going well, you know?
[00:17:29] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:17:29] Speaker A: You, you prayed for. Are you praying for what you want. Are you praying for what God wants? If you pray for what God wants. Yeah, you're gonna, he's gonna answer those.
[00:17:37] Speaker B: But it.
[00:17:40] Speaker A: That does kind of feel like we've got to solve for the mystery in order for all those eight times that he said, how many times he said it to. To be true or whatever you're saying. Because if I don't ask it for the exact one thing.
[00:17:51] Speaker C: Right.
[00:17:52] Speaker A: That God wants, then.
[00:17:54] Speaker B: But I think that's what his whole. I think he.
What I would do is I would go back to the whole emphasis of John 15 and really kind of sort of not really, but John 14, but really it's John 15.
It's about the abiding.
It's about the being able to decipher God's will.
George Mueller is one of my favorite examples of a prayer life of depending upon the Lord. I mean, rent an orphanage.
If you read his biography, you'll see there were times when he didn't have enough food to feed the orphans that he took care of. He would pray, lord, you got to bring that food. We, we've got to have it. And a bread truck would break down in front of the place. I mean, it was that kind of miraculous thing. Well, George Mueller had several folks that he prayed for that he didn't know if God answered that prayer or not. And lo and behold, on his deathbed, he did. He said, man, I've been praying for that guy for 60 some years.
And you know, I. That's where I'm saying, if God slayed on somebody's heart to pray for somebody for 60 some years, I'd believe with all my heart. Yeah, eventually that's going to be. Now again, is it our, our wish or his will?
[00:19:01] Speaker C: Yeah, well, the tough one for me is because it's never happened is when I'm not sure who said it in the Psalms is pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
I've never seen or heard any peace of Jerusalem.
[00:19:19] Speaker B: Once in a while.
[00:19:20] Speaker C: Yeah, three days that hasn't been answered yet. But it will be.
[00:19:24] Speaker B: Yeah, but it will be.
[00:19:26] Speaker C: But I, I don't know why I think that's in the latter half of Psalms.
Why hasn't that happened?
And I understand that there's more forces than just me praying for it.
[00:19:42] Speaker B: And I think if you look at like revelation, you'll see the bowls that are being poured out. Oftentimes they were the prayers of the, the suffering saints that, you know, lord, why aren't you providing relief? And oh, I'm going to have It.
And again, that good, better, best of knowing that even in the midst of when we're crying out, God, why aren't you doing this? And God, I'm praying as hard as I can for this, but God might intend for it to be something else. You've got to be willing. Again, it goes back to that trust of saying, all right, in your time and in your way, Lord. But Lord, I feel like this is my heart, that this is your heart and your will that I'm praying in.
[00:20:22] Speaker A: Well, that kind of segues into another point. I only had two big points for today or two big topics, but they were somewhat connected, I guess. Another one is the patience. And mom sent me something the other day that I'd seen it before. It's like a 20 minute long video. But there was one particular part of it that kind of stood out to me that I never. I didn't really pay attention to the first time, I guess. And that's the.
For whatever reason, I think we fall into this trap of thinking, expecting, I guess, instant gratification, even though we definitely ought to know better than to think that a lot of times we can think, okay, as soon as we pray for something, or as soon as we step out in faith, or as soon as we do we follow what God's telling us to do, that it's going to instantly go, well, right? And it's going to. We're going to immediately get that confirmation that, yes, God's behind this and he wants us to do this. And look how well it worked out right away. And then after I was thinking on that a little bit more later on, I just thought, well, really obvious, famous story from the Bible where that didn't play out was Moses. And I got up this morning, I was looking through before.
[00:21:29] Speaker B: It gets better.
[00:21:29] Speaker A: Yeah. I was like, where is the part where this, this he first calls Moses? And it's like, that's chapter three.
[00:21:35] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:21:35] Speaker A: It's like. And when did he finally get to the point where Moses. It was like everything was, was good and everything worked. It never did, really. I got all the way to the end of Exodus and they're still complaining and bickering.
[00:21:44] Speaker B: Well, they did that all the way through. That's their, that's their spiritual gift.
[00:21:47] Speaker A: And.
[00:21:48] Speaker B: But when you get to Exodus 4 and Exodus 5.
[00:21:51] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:21:52] Speaker B: You think, okay, I've seen the burning bush. He's made us a promise, going to go down there. I'm sure in the back of Moses, his mind, he probably packed for a, I don't know, three day trip. Yeah, he's a 40, 40 year journey.
[00:22:06] Speaker A: Yeah. You've got, you've got kind of different stages in the process. Right. Of, of hearing from God when he calls you to do something.
And then there, there's. It may be different for each scenario, but there might be a period of kind of wrestling with that. And is this really God or is this me, or is this something, something else? And then you've got a period of, okay, now, now you've got some type of a confirmation. Yes, this is, this is God's will and we're going to do this. And at that point we think, okay, it'll be good from here. Yeah, that's not biblical at all.
[00:22:37] Speaker B: And I think that's where you, you trust that it is.
[00:22:40] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:22:41] Speaker B: And you still operate under the same premise of. And that's where you hold on to that promise.
[00:22:46] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:22:47] Speaker B: I tell young pastors all the on to that calling when, you know God's called you to preach. Because I told him, I said, there's going to be some Mondays that you come into the office and you're going to feel like, that was the worst sermon I ever preached. That was horrible. God, your people, these people around here ain't responding. I feel like I'm beating my head against the wall, feel like I'm spitting in the wind. Whatever you want to use that's spinning your wheels, that this ain't going nowhere. I said, you're going to need that. I said, there's going to be times when even your own brothers and sisters in Christ have turned against you. Thinking, pastor ain't no good, let's run him out on a rail. And you're going to need to hold on to that calling. Well, for Moses, I think he had to do the same thing. In fact, if you look at 4 and 5, there was a time when he was going back saying, God, I've done everything you wanted me to do. Why is this happening? This ain't right.
I'm expecting easy street. I'm expecting that I should be on my way back to Jerusalem or to Israel. And no, now we got a Pharaoh is basically saying, no, you can go get your own straw now. I mean, it got worse and to the point that Moses own people turned against him and said, man, it's gotten worse since you got down here, man.
And so he had to hold on to that promise. And that's oftentimes when we're praying that we have to hold on to those promises he's made, such as John 14, 15, 16 or some others to say, lord, I'm trusting you, that it may get worse.
And oftentimes it does.
[00:24:21] Speaker A: And that's why I say they're connected, because I think it.
I hopped around a lot this morning in different places, but that was in. In putting those two together. It's like, yeah, a lot of your prayers that. A lot of those prayers you didn't think were answered may be answered eventually. But it take. I've got a really. This was really kind of a personal thing. I've realized there's more side effects to add than just being really forgetful. One of them is, you know, you, you. I got a short attention span. I'll start something.
[00:24:50] Speaker B: Right.
[00:24:51] Speaker A: If it don't go well right away, off to the next thing and I'll
[00:24:54] Speaker B: come back to it.
[00:24:55] Speaker A: I'm sure there's a lot of examples of where I thought God was telling me to do something and I did it, and I didn't.
I didn't get that confirmation from him. Right. There's probably a few that he really did tell me to that I just.
[00:25:08] Speaker B: It didn't go right away or it didn't work.
Yeah.
[00:25:12] Speaker A: As soon as it didn't go well, I just said, well, that wasn't God then. That was another one of my ideas. It wasn't a good one. So we'll just move on to the next thing.
And I think that's part of the point of him bringing that up to me, is that, hey, man, you need to develop a little bit of persistence here with some things because day one's not always the day that you're gonna. Everything's gonna work out.
[00:25:32] Speaker B: You're exactly right. And I think the other thing is. Yeah. How do you determine, okay, this is exactly what God wants me to do.
And again, I think the closer you are or the more connected you are to the vine, the easier that is.
And not saying it's easy, but it is easier.
[00:25:50] Speaker A: Right.
[00:25:51] Speaker B: Because you'll be able to tell, okay, this is exactly it. And I think it's one of keeping in the back of our mind. And I tell our youth all the time. They. We go to Caswell and they come back. One of the things I always tell them before we get back on that bus is you made some commitments down here. Let me go ahead and let you know. It ain't going to be long. It's going to be tested.
It might not be before we get home. It might be as soon as we get off the bus. It might wait until school starts. But if you made a commitment to walk with the Lord and walk closer to the Lord. Just trust me. There's an enemy that don't want that to happen.
The world is going to do its best to distract you. You got to make sure that you remember this moment that no, I made that commitment, or Lord, you called me to yourself here and then go from there. But yeah, being persistent, knowing that's exactly what God has called me. Do you got to do that?
[00:26:45] Speaker A: And what are examples on both sides? I don't know that I can think of an example of somebody of God calling someone to do so. I can think of a ton of examples of God calling a prophet or Moses. I mean, there's tons just from Moses where day one didn't go well, then you might have had a win. And then. Then you have another challenge that comes up, and then God provides again and there's this cycle that goes on. I really don't know that I can think of an example of where it just went perfect. God told somebody to do. They went out and did it. It went perfectly.
Jonah kind of comes to mind that his. His story certainly wasn't very smooth enough. He would have obeyed to start with. Maybe it would have, but it.
I can't think of very many stories in the Bible if I can't think of any off top of my head. There might be some where somebody just did what God said and it went perfect. There was no problem.
[00:27:39] Speaker C: Well, major stories, that's true, I would say, but not minor.
When God tells, like Elijah, he sent the fire. Well, why did Elijah, you know about the priest fire came down from heaven. And then Elijah got scared.
Then he lost. Lost his confidence and he would, you know, ran for his life. Sometimes we have to keep our perspective and focus on what we're looking for.
Like I would say here, and this is for me, not for anybody else, but sometimes we focus on numbers and we should be focused on sheep.
Sometimes we think our church is growing because all these numbers.
Jesus said, I want you to be.
When the sheep, whether this church is five people or 2,000 people. I think sometimes we just put our perspectives in the wrong thing.
I would love for this church to be mega. Well, I wouldn't say mega, but, you know, a huge church.
But God is more concerned with. With each individual sheep. The reason why I was thinking on this was because I remember on a station that a missionary, all his life, he went one person.
That's very discouraging. I would be.
That's like, am I really in the right thing or should I just quit he had prayed for a radio station in their native tongue to come, and it never happened.
He died.
And this is BN B. This story comes with bnm, which was a radio station. Well, he died and somehow I can't remember what happened. But his. They put a radio station down in the. Wherever the place is in missionary field. And his, his wife won a lot of the people that he tried to win all of his life.
So. And I guess it shows that the combination of you can be called to do something, but you'll never see the fruit.
And sometimes we focus on, well, God's called me to do this and that everything's going to be happen.
Lucky and everything. And that's not the case.
And a lot of times our, Our perspective is wrong and the way we think.
And I mean, I've been wrong on a lot of things that I've.
[00:30:39] Speaker B: And I think too. I mean, as you were saying that I think one of the things that we always need to keep in mind is if it's so easy, then we're dumb enough to think that it's us.
We're dumb enough to put that, okay, look what I've done versus, okay, the most powerful man in the world said, no, that now, okay, Lord, it's got to be you.
Sure ain't gonna be Moses's smooth talking. He said he didn't have that in Exodus 3, so now it's got to be you. And, and, and even God said, no, now I'm going to show you what I can do. And even Pharaoh's going to recognize who, who God is. Because it's Funny, in Exodus 5, Pharaoh says, I don't know this God you're talking about. Who is this God? And he must not be much of a God. If the Israelites have been enslaved for 400 years, he must be death or must be weak. So why would I listen to him? Well, you're going to know exactly who he is. And I think the other thing is this. And I know it's cliche, and I hesitate to even say it just because it is so cliche, but here's the thing. There is no testimony without that first part of the word.
You got to have the test first. You got to have the hard part for you to be able to say, no, this is what God did.
If you don't have that testing, then all you got is a personal statement about what you were able to do. And that ain't going to be much because apart from me, you can do nothing. Is what Jesus said in John 15:5. So you've got to have that test is where you come back and you say, but God did this. All these things were against me. All these things didn't line up. I don't know how God did it. God sent gnats. God sent frogs. God sent, you know, darkness. God sent us a plague on the. On the cattle or all the livestock. And then last but not least, you had Passover. God did all that.
And. But that was a test, though, because I know Moses probably by about number six or seven. Moses probably was strutting a little bit. I would think I would be. But. But then again, Pharaoh would say, all right, I'm going to set you free. Free. Then as long as. And then the darkness went in. No, I changed my mind. I'm sure he got kind of sick of that.
[00:32:54] Speaker C: But I'm sure that pride can creep up anywhere.
[00:32:58] Speaker B: Sure can.
[00:32:59] Speaker C: You know, and I've seen this in testimonies where people at one point in time, they were humbled how God delivered them and all that. Then, you know, later on, it's, I did this, I did that, I did this, I did that. So you had.
And I'm not criticizing them. I actually really criticize myself because I have to stay. I have to remember it was all God and that, not me.
[00:33:26] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:33:27] Speaker C: Even though, you know, you have people come up to you say, I'm very proud of you, this and that, you know, and I. And then you start. Your head gets swelling, and I can see where people on your sermon. Oh, man, that was a great sermon. Yeah.
[00:33:42] Speaker B: It's a battle. It's a battle.
You have to.
And I mean, when I say, well, God's good to us, because I don't say that just for happenstance or because it's a habit. I say it because no. Unless God shows up and does the work.
And I think it's humbling because no matter how many hours you put in and no matter how many hours you put studying a sermon or praying over a sermon, unless the spirit shows up, unless he does the work.
Now, granted, he does use prepared servants better, but. But it's him. It's him that does the effort. Because if you get anything out of it, again, it's not me, it's the Lord. So, yeah, being a pastor is one of the most humbling, really. If you stop think about it, I
[00:34:30] Speaker C: think you have to fight against that.
[00:34:31] Speaker B: In law, it's humbling. But also, you can be prideful. You're right.
[00:34:36] Speaker C: It can switch on you just so quickly. I mean, it switches on and that's one reason why. I think that's one reason why. Why we go through so many battles, so many tests is to keep us humble.
[00:34:53] Speaker B: I tend to agree.
[00:34:54] Speaker C: But then again, you want people to say nice things about you.
[00:34:57] Speaker B: I don't think everybody needs encouragement. I was going to write a. I was going to write an article in the Flashpoint this week about how do you encourage others?
You know what? Because we are called to be encouragers.
[00:35:08] Speaker C: Well, how do you encourage others?
[00:35:10] Speaker B: Well, I think there's a couple of things. Well, I think it's one of. Yeah, you need to speak, but I think there's several things. How do you go about encouraging people is not by blowing them up or making their ego big.
You encourage them by reminding them what the promises of God are. Reminding them that you see God working in their life. Reminding them that, hey, hold on, there's a promise coming.
There's encouragement that way. Then there are times when it can be something as simple as. I just want to tell you, man, you talked about that verse, John 17, that it was so good that I had never thought about it that. That way or it just really spoke to me. And I thank you for that. I thank God for you. That's a good encouragement. I thank God for you.
[00:35:55] Speaker C: But you got to be kind of careful because a lot of times flattery.
[00:36:01] Speaker B: Yes, well, flattery is not encouragement. I mean it can be a part of it, but that's really not what you're doing.
[00:36:07] Speaker C: Flattery is really telling somebody to their face.
But you wouldn't tell. Tell them behind their back.
Gossip is something that you would not tell them to your face. Right. She would say behind their back. So flattery is. In other words, flattery is a lie.
[00:36:31] Speaker B: I think flattery oftentimes goes to the motive.
[00:36:34] Speaker C: Yeah, well, it's all.
[00:36:36] Speaker B: I'm telling you this because I want something. Encouragement is not necessarily about motivation as much as it is is I just want you to know who you are in Christ and that hey, I. I got your back and I'm proud of you.
[00:36:48] Speaker C: Well, sometimes that can get mixed up.
[00:36:50] Speaker B: Well, we're human and we are sick of then depraved above all else.
[00:36:56] Speaker C: Flattery. It can be troubling.
No doubt you for the.
[00:37:03] Speaker B: For the flatterer and the flattery.
[00:37:05] Speaker C: Well the.
Yeah, maybe that person that was giving you flatter batteries. I mean not what he.
[00:37:11] Speaker B: Obviously they're wanting.
[00:37:13] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:37:13] Speaker B: I mean there. There's usually an ulterior motive. So that's bad. And then you got that you fail for it.
[00:37:20] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
Another thing that I was.
I'm telling you all over the Bible here, but Proverbs, 16, nines. I know we've, we've talked about before. A man, the mind of a man, plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. That was always, always a, like a little bit of a mind twister to me. It's like, well, wait a minute. If.
[00:37:40] Speaker C: Which.
[00:37:40] Speaker A: Which one's which? Because if I'm deciding to. If my mind decides to go north and he directs my steps east, then that's not. How's that work. But I. The way I'm taking it is that you can plan it one way or the other. The important thing is that he's guiding your steps and you may go south when your mind had north in, you know, that was the direction. But it's. He wants control of the step by step where. What got me to that was I'm. I always want to know how the story is going to end from the start, like anytime, whether it's good or bad. What. I want to jump to the end of the story and figure out how this is going to end.
And what took me back to that first podcast is there was something I said on there that as long as I was where God wants me, I didn't care why.
[00:38:18] Speaker B: Right.
[00:38:18] Speaker A: Well, that's an easy thing to slip out of real quick because it's. Now I want to know why. What's the purpose of every single step that we're taking here? And he's like, you don't get that always or maybe ever. But it's you. You handle this step.
[00:38:30] Speaker C: It.
[00:38:30] Speaker A: I'll handle all the rest of them. Basically, which. That I started thinking about that I was like, well, that's the opposite of what Proverbs 69 says. That's. That's basically saying he's got the end game and just you worry about the now. That's it. But he wants you to just worry about that step and, and let him direct those steps. Don't worry about where it's going.
[00:38:51] Speaker C: Right.
[00:38:51] Speaker A: Is that I might be twisting that one around. That's the most scripture you reading again, Proverbs 16, 9. The mind of a man plans his way, but the Lord directs his step.
[00:39:01] Speaker C: Yeah. I would say, I guess just off top of my head, if you want to be a doctor, that's your goal.
And I would say to plan your steps with.
I was going to show you how he wants to be with you all through the way, step by step.
[00:39:18] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:39:19] Speaker C: What do you think?
[00:39:20] Speaker B: I think.
[00:39:21] Speaker C: I think I mean, was that a good interpretation? I'm not sure.
[00:39:23] Speaker B: Well, I think if I'm not mistaken, and don't quote when you went back and listened, I usually. The analogy of a cruise ship, you've.
[00:39:31] Speaker A: You've used it before. Yes. And I think that's.
[00:39:33] Speaker B: And I think that's the. How I would use that verse as a reference is, look, that if you get on a cruise ship, unless you get infected by a hentai virus or whatever, what is it the hint of our man. I tell you what, that. All right, so unless it gets impacted by a virus and an outbreak, I get on the boat in Cape Cape Fort Lauderdale, Cape Lookout, whatever they call it, where they launched the.
They're in Florida.
[00:40:03] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:40:04] Speaker B: And it's going to go to the Bahamas, then to Cozumel, wherever, and then come back. All right, that's the overall. That's the, the thing. Now, during that, that cruise ship, I can go to the midnight buffet a time or two or I might not. I might go to a show at night and watch them sing Beatles songs. I might. I might overeat three times.
I might get one night and steak and lobster the next night.
That. That is okay. Kind of I'm directing my. But the ultimate plan is I'm going to be back in Cape Bookout or Cape Fort Lauderdale. That boat's coming back. And that's the. That's God's plan, is where it's going to go. Now, some of the decisions I make on a day in, day out basis, I think that's what I get at from that verse is you might think you're going to do this, this and this. But ultimately it's going to be God's plan and God's going to work those things out. That if you Dec.
I'm not going to obey the Lord. I'm just going to do whatever I want to do. Let's say Moses would have said, I ain't doing it, and he really meant I ain't doing it. Do you think God would have raised up a new Moses? I think he probably would have or somebody else. Because God had made a promise to Abraham that he was going to free his people. They would spend 400 years in slavery.
So if God. If Moses would have said I ain't doing it, somebody somewhere, God would have raised up and. And done it.
[00:41:24] Speaker C: So. And David, Saul and David, or Saul disobeyed David.
[00:41:29] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:41:29] Speaker C: I mean, disobeyed God. And God told him, you, I selected you to be on the throne.
[00:41:35] Speaker B: And, and God would have Made Saul a kingdom that would.
[00:41:38] Speaker C: Forever.
[00:41:38] Speaker B: Forever.
[00:41:39] Speaker C: Yeah. Jesus had. He obeyed and so. But he kept. It wasn't. I think it wasn't just once. It was just.
[00:41:47] Speaker B: Well, he. His whole. His whole kingdom. If you stop and think about it, even when he was anointed. When he was anointed, he was hiding out under the. You know, it.
He is the epitome of someone trying to live in the flesh.
[00:42:00] Speaker C: And for somebody going from humble to
[00:42:03] Speaker B: prideful real quick, zero to six.
[00:42:06] Speaker C: I mean, what was it like? I don't know. The time frame. I'm thinking a couple years.
[00:42:10] Speaker B: I don't know. It took that long, man. And win a battle or two.
You're the king, everybody bows to you.
[00:42:18] Speaker C: Yeah. David was not God's first choice.
[00:42:22] Speaker B: He what now?
[00:42:24] Speaker C: To lead the kingdom.
[00:42:25] Speaker B: I mean, it was Saul.
[00:42:26] Speaker C: It was Saul, but everybody thinks it was David. David was.
Saul was elected by the people and David was elected by God. No, God elected both of them, but Saul just wouldn't do what he was told to do. And on David would.
[00:42:43] Speaker B: Well, and even when you have the northern kingdom, the first king of the Northern Kingdom, God had made a promise to him. Him. Hey, I'll. I'll make you a line that will last. But they didn't listen.
[00:42:54] Speaker C: I don't think any of them listen.
[00:42:56] Speaker B: No, not in the north side was bad, but. But he had made a promise to the first king of the north is if you'll follow after me, I'll. I'll do something through your line.
[00:43:08] Speaker C: And he did it. He was at first, I think was. Yeah, Jeroboam. Yeah. You know, at first. But then.
[00:43:14] Speaker B: Well, he's a lot better reappear poem in the south.
[00:43:18] Speaker C: Yeah. And so, yeah, he would actually. He fled to Egypt. Right.
[00:43:23] Speaker B: For a little while when Solomon was. He was scared of Solomon.
[00:43:27] Speaker C: Yeah. Okay.
[00:43:28] Speaker B: But he. I mean, you stop and think about it.
[00:43:31] Speaker A: He.
He.
[00:43:32] Speaker B: He wasn't a bad king for a while. But eventually they all turned away.
[00:43:38] Speaker C: Isn't that the truth in the north? Yes. Some of them never. Even I ain't think started out good.
[00:43:45] Speaker B: Well, and, And I think that might be even part of it is sometimes you look at some of those kings, maybe they did start out to be good. Solomon. Goodness gracious. I mean, Solomon and 1st Kings 3 is begging the Lord for wisdom. It gives him. Look, God says, I'll give you anything you want. And rather than asking for riches, long life, he says, I need wisdom. I don't even know how to come in and go, go out. I gotta rule these people And I can understand that. I. I totally get that. Because, hey, as a pastor, Lord, there's so many decisions, so much has to be done. I don't know how to do all this. And Lord, I need you versus eventually. And what can happen is you get so used to making those decisions and you become as a pastor, you can get so locked in of, you know how to do all this because you've been doing it long enough that you forget I'm so dependent upon the God for everything that that's how it happens. And Solomon did the same thing, didn't he? I mean, he left. I mean, God told him, all right, don't. Don't build up for yourselves a lot of wives. Well, what does he end up doing? He ends up with, you know, several hundred wives. Don't. Don't. You don't need to depend on horses and chariots. And he ends up with, you know, a thousand horses. I mean, it's one of those things of Solomon.
You. You're supposed to be the wisest dude on the planet.
[00:45:02] Speaker C: Yeah, but you did it.
[00:45:05] Speaker B: You messed you. You stepped on it.
[00:45:07] Speaker C: I'll see you in a couple years. But.
[00:45:09] Speaker B: Yeah, who would want that many wives?
[00:45:12] Speaker C: Well, I know a lot of them was political still.
[00:45:16] Speaker B: Political or not political, I don't care.
[00:45:18] Speaker C: I know, but I mean, I imagine he have sexual relationship with a lot of them still.
[00:45:27] Speaker B: How about. How about a tenth of them? That's 70. How about a tenth of that? That's seven. That's seven wives that drive you absolutely crazy, much less 700.
[00:45:37] Speaker C: I know. That's why I might have been.
[00:45:41] Speaker B: And God told him, don't. Don't do it.
And oftentimes we bypass what God tells us to do because we think we might know better or whatever reason.
[00:45:51] Speaker C: But when you think. When you think on. And this is funny because, you know, Abraham had two wives.
J. Well, how does it. J. Jacob, he took advantage of that. Now, he only had two.
[00:46:06] Speaker B: Jacob had two.
[00:46:06] Speaker C: But he had two concubines, right?
[00:46:08] Speaker B: Yep, they had concubines.
[00:46:10] Speaker C: Four. Four, right.
[00:46:12] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:46:12] Speaker A: It.
[00:46:13] Speaker B: It depends on how you want to count it.
[00:46:15] Speaker A: David had.
[00:46:15] Speaker C: But God still worked in their own us. Yeah, that's the thing. God still worked in that lives.
[00:46:20] Speaker B: And at that time, it was con. You know, it wasn't.
[00:46:23] Speaker C: Well, you know, population. Wouldn't that be right?
[00:46:26] Speaker B: But. But at the same time, it was.
[00:46:28] Speaker C: It was never.
[00:46:29] Speaker B: Solomon was told do not.
[00:46:32] Speaker C: It was never condoned in the Bible. That's. That's my point. I was trying to make. Even though they Were living in sin, if you want to call it that,
[00:46:40] Speaker B: if you still think about it.
How did it work out for, for them?
[00:46:45] Speaker C: Well, it depends. I mean, how do you look at it? But.
[00:46:48] Speaker B: Well, I mean every one of them I saw ends up being something ain't right.
[00:46:52] Speaker C: Yeah. Conflict between the women that started, but they.
[00:46:56] Speaker A: Do you think that ended well for the, for the men?
[00:46:58] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, think about it. I mean Rachel and Leah, even that ended. I mean that was a terrible. Jacob's family, I. I would hardly say was functional.
I mean none of them, when you look at, when you look at the Old Testament Testament, there really aren't many. I mean I'm sitting here talking about, yeah, we can find some good dads. There's a lot of dysfunctional things, especially in Genesis.
[00:47:19] Speaker C: But God still worked in their lives.
[00:47:20] Speaker B: Sure they did. And God did. God worked all the way through bringing his promise to fruition from Genesis 12 in Genesis 3.
[00:47:28] Speaker C: We don't have to be perfect for God to work in our lives. We just have to be willing.
[00:47:33] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:47:33] Speaker C: But we should be.
[00:47:34] Speaker B: But there are some messed up.
[00:47:35] Speaker C: There's not.
[00:47:36] Speaker B: There's some messed up facts families.
[00:47:38] Speaker C: Yeah, there's messed up families now.
[00:47:40] Speaker B: I mean one of the best characters in the mind or people in the Bible to learn from how to live. I mean he came from a real messed up family, I. E. Joseph and his brothers hated him, sold him into slavery, couldn't say anything nice about him. He was arrested, falsely thrown in prison, stayed there for a lot longer than he had to because somebody forgot about. About him. And then lo and behold, he becomes second. And then was willing to forgive those guys that sold him in slavery.
[00:48:09] Speaker C: Well, it might have took that prison time to forgive him.
[00:48:12] Speaker B: Might have. But still, that's pretty impressive that one of the most admirable people in the Bible came from a dysfunctional family.
[00:48:21] Speaker C: Yes. And he only had one wife or two. I can't remember.
[00:48:25] Speaker B: Well, I know that one well. And she was a foreign foreigner. That, that was one of the things that if you're going to find anything about Joseph that people, people would point at and say, you know, it was. He was. And she actually she was an Egyptian priestess or his. Her daddy was a Egyptian priest type thing. So. But no, that was just one that I know of.
[00:48:50] Speaker C: I can't, you know.
[00:48:51] Speaker B: Now his daddy had to.
[00:48:54] Speaker C: Well, his daddy was scoundrel. Yeah.
Anyway.
[00:48:59] Speaker B: Well. And he was. Who's the dude?
[00:49:01] Speaker C: He was.
[00:49:01] Speaker B: Who's good for those two because he worked seven years. He worked seven years. It was supposed to be for Leah. And doggone if Laban didn't switch his ugly daughter on him.
[00:49:12] Speaker C: Played one on play. He played him, man.
[00:49:14] Speaker B: When I told the youth that the other night and I said, look, the Bible says that she was.
[00:49:19] Speaker C: I can't remember what he says.
[00:49:20] Speaker B: Lazy. I said she was ugly.
No, it didn't say that. And we showed them and now you wouldn't believe what they. You know, I was so laughing.
[00:49:29] Speaker C: I tell you what. But Abraham had one beautiful wife. Had to.
She's 80 years old.
And the Pharaoh wants to. Yeah. Not just once, but twice. Pharaoh wanted her to be in his Harlem.
[00:49:45] Speaker B: Right.
[00:49:46] Speaker C: But she probably did act and that might have been the case. She was looking young because she probably was young to have the strength to have. Have Isaac.
But then the Bible says she died what, 20, August 20or close to it.
[00:50:05] Speaker B: Right.
[00:50:05] Speaker C: Well, she must age really quick.
[00:50:08] Speaker B: But the Bible also says that, you know, she, she showed great Faith in Hebrews 11 that even though she was past. Way past conceiving age.
[00:50:19] Speaker C: I didn't see the. That and you don't see that in Genesis. It's like lot.
Lot finished terrible in Genesis. But then he. He was a righteous man in the New Testament. Yeah.
Where was that? Yeah. You know, so there's a lot of things that we don't really know because it wasn't important that God didn't think it was important of.
You know, some people that we see that are really bad. And one part of book of the Bible, they weren't bad. They weren't in the end, they weren't according to God. They weren't. That they were righteous.
[00:50:54] Speaker B: They were righteous, made righteous by himself.
[00:50:57] Speaker C: If you read Kings, he was the worst king ever. But then you read Chronicles, he came to know the Lord.
[00:51:03] Speaker A: Yeah, so that's right.
[00:51:04] Speaker C: It's hard to. And the Kings, it's hard to figure out what their whole life was in two sentences or you know, and it's
[00:51:13] Speaker B: a whole different dichotomy, you know, how. How the Old Testament versus we're under grace and know rest of the story.
That's a whole different dichotomy of still the just shall live by faith. I get it. But you have no way of knowing, you know, how they were judged by the God because. Or did they hold on to the promise that God was going to send the Savior?
Well, especially if you only got two sentences about it seems to me like
[00:51:39] Speaker C: God showed a lot of grace in the Old Testament too.
[00:51:41] Speaker B: No, I think so. Because he should have wiped Israel several times.
[00:51:44] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:51:47] Speaker B: He probably should have wiped Israel out from. From the jump. As soon as they got out of Egypt and they started whining and crying and worshiping golden idols, that. That should have been a telltale sign that God, you are gracious.
[00:52:00] Speaker C: I would say that he should have just left him there, but he had to.
He made a promise and he even
[00:52:06] Speaker B: did threaten that again. I don't know if he was testing Moses when he said, I'm just going to start over with you, man.
[00:52:12] Speaker C: Moses. Yeah.
[00:52:13] Speaker B: And, you know, let me wipe these people out.
[00:52:16] Speaker C: Sent Moses down in the first place.
[00:52:18] Speaker A: Yeah.
Well, he's. He has the patience that we lack.
[00:52:23] Speaker B: Yes. And I'm glad he does have the patience because. To deal with us.
[00:52:27] Speaker C: Yeah. You know, sometimes we forget about our sin and we criticize other people for the same thing. Yeah, I see that.
And I probably have done that, too, but I see that what God has forgiven me.
[00:52:40] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:52:41] Speaker C: I criticize for the. A person that I know that's doing the same thing.
Sometimes we have.
God needs to remind us where he brought us from, where we could have been.
[00:52:51] Speaker A: Yep. Amen.
[00:52:53] Speaker C: All right. All right.
[00:52:54] Speaker B: Thank you, guys.
[00:52:55] Speaker A: See y'. All.
[00:52:58] Speaker B: I need to learn how to say hello and something nice in India.
[00:53:03] Speaker C: And the.
[00:53:04] Speaker B: Say it.
[00:53:04] Speaker C: What have you been doing years? No.
[00:53:06] Speaker B: Don't know much, but I know I love you.
That may be all I need to know.
